#review; Animal Farm.

after been over a month I've talked about some books about poetry and poems or romance and tragedy, I realized that I'm not really typical person whom just read that genre(s). I also read politics, or some philosophy books, but I found it reaaaaallyyy hard and difficult to make a review from those kind of books, especially philosophy. after thinking for a while, I decided to try and make this review as well!
this time, I'll talk about political issue first. I just finished read a book by George Orwell, this is my first time (also) reading his phenomenal book titled "Animal Farm". I've often heard about Orwell and his writings, I was interested with his writings after I read some reviews of his books. so I decided to bought one of his phenomenal book and wrote the review myself. so, let me begin.
the story began when one night, all the animals at Mr. Jones' Manor Farm assemble in a barn to hear old Major, an old pig, describe a dream he had about a world where all animals live free from the tyranny of their human masters. old Major dies soon after the meetings, but the animals inspired by his philosophy of Animalism plot a rebellion against Jones. two pigs, Snowball and Napoleon, prove themselves important as figures and planners of this dangerous enterprise. when Jones forgets to feed the animals, the revolution occurs, Jones and his men are chased off from the farm. Manor Farm is renamed Animal Farm, and the Seven Commandements of Animalism are painted on the barn wall after that.

initially, the rebellion is a success: the animals complete the harvest and meet every sunday to do a debate for farm policy. the pigs, because of their intelligence, becomes the supervisors of the barn. Napoleon, however, proves to be a power-hungry leader who steals the cows' milk and a number of apples to feed himself and another pigs. he also enlists the services of Squealer, a pig with ability to persuade the other animals that the pigs are always moral and correct in their decisions, this is a direct mandatory from Napoleon himself. Napoleon drunk by the power and authority of himself and planning to get rid of Snowball, with all the way he can even with violence. and so on, dualism is inevitable in Animal Farm.

this is a really great satire novel!
no doubt that this book is so phenomenal and inspiring so many people. this book talked about how "dirty" political issues lead by a nasty leader whom thinks about himself. Orwell describes pigs as the most intelligence animal and I think it's a very smart and clever way to describe a "leader" and how they should lead. from the plot of its story, it's such a really light story that contains so many implicit meaning. if you want to read this book, I warned you that the story is just like a five-years-old kids book but it contains so many political satire issues. it's a really awesome wrap!

why is this book so inspiring?
because Orwell wants us to know that "human tyranny" is a really worse case. so, he made a story from a different point of view to look at human, and he chooses animals in a farm. the analogy in this book makes us think twice about how we should act as a citizen and how we maintain our citizenship by obeying the rules (in this book, the rules called the "Seven Commandements"). the most interesting part of this book is the twist, you could find some twists in the story, changing step by step, before you realize that it was a twist!

after searching some informations about this book, I found some amazing facts. I just knew that in 1977, a psychedelic rock band, Pink Floyd, released an album titled "Animals", inspired by this book. also, Orwell wrote this book between November 1943 and February 1944, when the UK was in its wartime alliance with the Soviet Union and the British people and intelligentsia held Stalin in high esteem, a phenomenon Orwell hated. the manuscirpt was initially rejected by a number of British and American publishers. it became a great commercial success when it did appear partly because international relations were transformed as the wartime alliance gave way to the cold war.

I really adoring George Orwell and his work, especially this book. it was really fascinating and inspiring book about political issues I've ever read. Animal Farm is really worth to read if you're interested with political matters, a fairy novel with interesting story and amazing twists. the way Orwell describing political matters in his country is mesmerizing and adorable with different kinds of animals and different characteristics. should I say again that this is a masterpiece?
this book worth 9 out of 10 stars for me. and I promise to myself to read another Orwell's work, maybe the next book will be 1984. just wait until I finish it and I promise to y'all to make a review.

last but not least, I want to share my most favorite quotation from this book;

"man serves the interests of no creature except himself."
George Orwell.

happy reading!
thank you for always reading my writings.
